Week of September 9th
What kind of cloud is this hovering over Wisconsin? What interactions of the Earth's spheres would cause this cloud formation?

Wednesday-Friday:   Work on "Explaining the Earth's System" Digital Activity

Earth's System Activity Instructions

 You are to create a digital slide show that explains the following:
  • How the Sun's energy drives convection in the atmosphere and in bodies of water, which results in the water cycle, ocean currents, and weather pattern
  • How water moves through the Earth's crust, atmosphere, and oceans in a cyclic way, as liquid, vapor, and solid
  • How ocean currents and weather patterns are related
  • The physical and chemical composition of the atmosphere at different elevations
This assignment is due Monday, Sept. 16 in specified Schoology Drop Box

  1. 1st picture- Atmosphere into the water which is hydrosphere
    2nd picture- Since the volcano is erupting from rock, it would be the lithosphere interacting with the atmosphere
    3rd picture- gases released by the sun, reflect off the northern and southern poles of the earth and reflect into space(atmosphere)
    4th picture- Lithosphere (rock) interacting into the atmosphere
    5th picture- The Hydrosphere staying in the same sphere, but changing form(ice to water) and then some of the water evaporates into the atmosphere.

  4. It's surprising that something like the water sprite can occur. It must not happen often, especially because the spiral shaped cloud above does not look like it is common. Can the water sprites travel to land?

  5. In the picture of the water sprite the atmosphere and hydrosphere are interacting with each other. The water sprite looks like it can do a lot of damage if it is able to travel on land, but if there are any boats or animals that come across this are in a lot of danger. How often do water sprites occur? When they do occur do they occur for a short amount of time? Can water sprites travel across land?
