Wednesday-Friday:   Work on "Explaining the Earth's System" Digital Activity

Earth's System Activity Instructions

 You are to create a digital slide show that explains the following:
  • How the Sun's energy drives convection in the atmosphere and in bodies of water, which results in the water cycle, ocean currents, and weather pattern
  • How water moves through the Earth's crust, atmosphere, and oceans in a cyclic way, as liquid, vapor, and solid
  • How ocean currents and weather patterns are related
  • The physical and chemical composition of the atmosphere at different elevations
This assignment is due Monday, Sept. 16 in specified Schoology Drop Box

Sometimes lava is not the only thing that causes fire on our planet!  In this picture elk try to avoid this sweeping fire by standing in this river in Montana.  Where in the US is another forest fire causing major widespread damage?

Shield Volcanoes


Volcanoes are also common on other planets!  This is a shield volcano on Mars - it is the largest volcano in the solar system - Olympus Mons.
