2013 Dust Storm in Phoenix, Arizone
Major Loess Deposits Worldwide
What 2 observations can you make about the locations of loess deposits across the globe?
Layers of sandstone
Why is sandstone red and layered?
What can you infer about the composition rock formation in this picture?
The rock is so misinformed because of the weathering that happens it weathered different parts and also there was some abrasion happening this is why some other rocks are by it.
ReplyDeleteThese loess deposits are relative to glacier locations because glaciers create loess.
ReplyDeleteLater in life, as glaciers continue to melt, storms will increase and get more intense. This will create more disasters that, as adults, we will have to deal with and find solutions. Ways to stop flooding in the future is to make the sewers deeper and make barriers on the sides of river to stop erosion that could result in a landslide.
ReplyDeleteToday, we learned about how weather and climate is going to be affected as glaciers melt, and how we need to do something about it. All of the water coming off of glaciers is going to create more moisture and precipitation. More moisture in the atmosphere means more hurricanes and heavy rain+storms. Our generation will have to find a way to deal with this, because storms and hurricanes mean we lose power and buildings will be damaged.
ReplyDeleteIf glaciers continue to melt, than there will be excess amounts of rain in the atmosphere. This will result in more storms and the speed of the winds will increase. There will also be some hurricanes in places that normally don't experience severe storms. With the increased amount of storms comes the chance of more power outages because the power lines will go down. People may be able to fix this if they were to put the power lines underground. There would also because an excess amount of flooding because there would be more rainfall.
ReplyDeletewhat we have been learning about has been about how the earth is shaped. The earth has been shaped from the glaciers that drift across the world eroding sediment forming strange land forms like erratic, kettles, moraines. We also learned about how wind can shape the earth from blasting loess into bigger rocks abrading them and weathering till there are, also about how when the loess is eroded around the world and deposited it can change the fertility of the soil.
ReplyDeleteThe climate and weather affect how fast glaciers melt and then in the future when we are adults we will be dealing with a lot more heavy storms, rain, and flooding. More flooding will cause mudslides, landslides, and rock falls which will then cost a lot of money to repair.
ReplyDeleteWe have been learning about how glaciers affect the land and how the melting of glaciers can affect me even though there are no glaciers around me. For example glaciers create loess and if there is less loess then there will be less productive farming and so on. Also, all of the extra water in the atmosphere is causing lots of problems such as landslides, creeps, and rockfalls.
ReplyDeleteAs all the glaciers continue to melt our environment will have a huge affect on our daily lives. So many things will change, this includes things such as the Ohio River moving faster than normal so it would be harder to swim or go boating. The more the glaciers melt the more rain that will end up falling, that would lead to major tragedies including mudslides and landslides!
ReplyDeleteAs the year goes on their will be more mudslides, rockfall, and landforms because the glacier are going to leave moist soil as it moves or melts and the landforms, rockfall, and mudslides will get more intense and could destroy buildings or hurt more people.
ReplyDeleteas the glaciers melt more and more there will be more rain and that rain will cause a lot more of the mud slides and rockfalls and landslides
ReplyDeleteas glaciers melt. more soil will be exposed into water and that will cause human toxins to seep in their bodies. That will make us extinct and rare to find. It will also cause weather patterns like hurricanes and rains. Less glaciers means less water for polar bears. it will suddenly decrease human diversity. cilmate change isn't just hurting ourselves. but it prevents us from living

ReplyDeleteAs the Glaciers melt there will be more water on Earth. With more and more water it could result in more rain than usual and could cause mass movement events such as mudslides. It could also cause the sea levels to rise making people move further and further inland.
ReplyDeleteclimate change is causing the glaciers to melt and this is effecting weather and therefoere Ohio.
ReplyDeletedo to the earths cycle moving closer to the sun and further away the glaciers have been melting drastically. Soon in a hundred years this could all melt. we don't know what the effects are but we will find out soon.
ReplyDeleteAs the glaciers melt there will be more water on earth and that will create more rain. And more rain can create more erosion and deposition in different areas. Also I think that since there will be more water on earth people may have to move inland more. Also it will create more mass movement like rock falls, mudslides, and landslides. Also with the increased amount of moisture in the air will create more hurricanes.
ReplyDeleteSince climate change is happening it is causing bigger and more powerful hurricanes and other storms. If they are bigger they will last longer. When they last longer they can travel inward and effect cities like Cicinnati, Ohio, and other places.
ReplyDeleteWhen the glaciers melt it will create more water in the world taking some of the coasts down and making the land smaller. Maybe if it was really dramatic then we could even be flooded.
ReplyDeleteThe melting of the ice would release water vapor and carbon dioxide into the air, both powerful greenhouse gases. The gases would exponentially increase the temperature as when more gases are released more ice would melt. The increased temperature would lead to more erratic weather patterns and stronger storms. "Super storms" would become more common and we would experience possible droughts and flooding.
ReplyDeleteWhen the glaciers melt, it creates more water which will flow down to the coasts, and cover them, making the land smaller, and more water.
ReplyDeleteAs the Glaciers melt there will be more water on Earth.Which could cause rain and cause mudslides. It could also cause the sea levels to rise making people move further and further away from the waters
ReplyDeleteClimate change is causing lots of the glaciers to melt which is making more floods and storms to occur. Ohio is being affected by the storms also.
ReplyDeleteGlaciers melting will effect EVERYTHING in Ohio. More rainfall, landslides, rock slides, mudslides, floods and much more. It will do damage to roads, houses, buildings, power lines and cause more sinkholes In all of the karst landscapes. More rain can wash away the soil and make it harder for plant growth and crops, that could strongly hurt the economy in Ohio. There will be many dangerous hazards and consequences that will come from the glaciers melting, even if we all live in Ohio, which is fairly far away from the magnificent glaciers that are tragically, rapidly melting away.
ReplyDeleteI think because of climate change in Ohio the state will be getting ready for more natural disasters. The rising temperature cause more things such as hurricanes and other sorts of nature related happenings.
ReplyDeleteI think when there is more rain then there will be more natural disasters and in Ohio there will be hotter summers because of climate change.
