  1. Large amounts of water were absorbed into the earth and the soaked earth collapsed due to the major change in weight. This caused what is known as a sinkhole.

  2. The sinkhole is caused by water collapsing the ground making the ground sink.

  3. The rock next to the road was unstable, so when there was finally too much weight on the rock, a sinkhole was caused. Basically, the rock gave way, and it all collapsed into a big pile of debris.

  4. The sinkhole was caused by large amounts of water in an area where the soil is loose. The unstable ground was too weak to hold up under the pressure of the water, so it collapsed, causing the sinkhole.

  5. This was caused by lots of water in loose soil, the ground above was weak and collapsed causeing a hole.

  6. The sinkhole was caused by the rain and years and years of water erosion, on that specific day the ground and soil was especially weak causing the ground, rock and soil to give way.

  7. The example of erosion is a sinkhole and it was caused from the large amounts of rain we were having. The ground was not stable enough to hold the large amount of rain so it collapsed, forming a sinkhole.

  8. The ground below the parking lot sank and collapsed because water had eroded
    every thing under the hole.
